AI FOR REAL WORK
Write Better Work Emails with AI—and Still Sound Like Yourself
Practice pack — version 2, September 7, 2026

All people, projects and circumstances in these materials are fictional.

AFTER WATCHING THE LESSON
Complete one independent exercise:
1. Open Practice.txt and use its new situation to write your own prompt.
2. Work through the email, then check your result with Practice-check-guide.md.
3. Revise only where it helps. There is no single correct wording.

OPTIONAL REFERENCE
The demo files preserve the example taught in the video. They are reference material, not a second assignment:
- Demo-notes.txt and Demo-prompt.txt contain Maya's facts and first prompt.
- Demo-output-01.txt shows the first response. Its request is already at the top, but the opening combines the decision and deadline in one long question.
- Revision-prompt.txt and Demo-output-02.txt show how the question and deadline were separated into shorter sentences.
- Demo-final-direct-edit.txt shows the final wording after a direct edit restored the clearly labeled draft and the final version to follow. It is not another AI response.
- Demo-check-guide.md explains what to check against Maya's notes.

Your AI tool may give a different response. Revise only when a change would help. You can read .md files as ordinary text.

USE THE SKILL AGAIN
Keep Reusable-prompt.txt as a starting structure for future work emails.
For real work, use only information you are allowed to share with your chosen AI service.
Check the facts, commitments and tone before sending anything. This exercise is for drafting only.

The check guides assess whether the email serves its purpose. They are not a claim that an AI tool will always produce an accurate response.
